Previous incarnations of the Lionizer interwebz

Attempted recreation
My first proper website was "black and fire" themed. Upon entry it prompted for your name, and displayed a customized greeting.
It also detected your screen resolution, so the flames in the right side of the page would be positioned correctly.
Furthermore I had some early adventures with VRML, so if you had the proper plugin, you could crawl up a hill and walk around in a ver basic "house" I made.
It was in the very early days of the internet, so I also shared whatever I had found of guides on HTMl, tables, frames etc.
Most of the text on the site was made with "letter images", and it looked great at the time but I've lost the images so the 'attempted recreation' is kinda poor.

Next round of the website was much better, with proper usage of frames, tables and some music integrated too.
With the help of Paint Shop Pro 7 (to this day still an awesome program), I made some nice roll-over effect on the menu. I'm still quite pleased with the look of v1.
At this time I was still heavily into Magic: The Gathering cardgame, so obviously I spent alot of time scanning all my cards and making a site with pictures of them all.
I also spent loads of time making excel spreadsheets containing all the information about my collection.
A working guestbook, although I think the form just sent me an email which I then added to the html manually.
I was by now a full blown member of the HTMl Writers Guild.

While studying and living at "kollegie" I made a small website containing often used information.
We had a group of people calculating for the SETI@home project, and I had written a parser drawing out information from the official site and allowing it to be sorted on any coloumn.

My first site with a proper MySQL backend, counting hits on each page and also making a list of top referrers.
With this incarnation came my first round of small tools, which have saved me countless hours over the last 5-10 years.
I also had a collection of files being piped through a download script so I could keep track of statistics such as number of downloads and various informations about the person requesting the file.
During this time MMstreaming was doing 5 channels of radio on the internet for TDC, so I made a popup displaying realtime info of current and next track on all five channels - along with quick access to play whichever had your fancy.
No use of graphics, save for the "Vote Against SPAM" logo, and menu neatly made with php functions dishing out headers, links and spacers (much like my current site).

This round saw a nicely rounded arc separating title and menu from content.
It took me several days to make it, so no comments about how it looks, mkay!
Most of the time was spent calculating perfect angles and where to cut it so that it could naturally stretch out and look proper for any resolution.
Many new additions to my tool-section along with massive information about my newest passion - a Puzzling Pirate MMO.
Very hot was also testing yourself, so of course I have a few select ones on the page.

Version five came about after a relative was complaining about lack of browser compatibility on my site.
He was absolutely right - I never gave a hoot about whether people could browse my site in anything except the browser of MY choice.
This round however was viewable by everyone and enjoyable by noone.

... so I simplified it even more and it became much better than version five, but still much less interesting both visually and content-wise than most other incarnations.
